Remember that song? lol! I wonder if the artist had GERD!!

Jesting aside, I am burning today. Across the abdomen, upper chest, and left throat and ear. Drinking Gaviscon advance by the bucketload, but no relief. This is torture. I haven't figured out what's triggered it, my diet has been the same now for a week. Can anyone shed any klight on why the burning is only ever in the left ear? I don't understand that.

I'm prone to "Ooo-ooo-ooo, I'm on Fire!"

I don't know, zelda. I'm sorry you're having trouble today. :(

I often get pain in the right ear. When my acid level gets a little too high and my sinuses react by creating a little extra fluid, it seems to put pressure on my right ear, like an ear ache type feeling. This seems to happen most often during the night.

Sometimes it helps to flush out my sinuses with a netti pot in the morning. I'm not sure what that's doing to help. Either it's loosening up some kind of blockage or else it's flushing out the traces of acid.

Probably you get the pain in your left ear due to some minor asymmetry of your sinuses, or maybe it has to do with which side of your body you spend the most time sleeping on.

As long as you keep your sense of humor, you'll be fine. wink

Good Morning,

One of my favorites is:

"I called my doctor on the telephoneHelp me Doc there's something wrongI can't shake it it's gone too farHe said tell me what your symptoms areI said my hands are sweaty and my knees are weakI can't eat and I can't sleepIt's turning me every way but looseHe said it sounds like love's got a hold on youNo doubt love's got a hold on you "

Glad to know we can all keep our sense of humor throughout the difficult issues.

I have a chronic middle ear problem and often have pain in my left ear but I know mine is not connected to GERD.

Wish I had a good answer for you but I suspect it may be an infection so check with your Dr. if the pain persists. Just my two cents worth this morning.

Kindly,

Kitt

I may be way off here but whenever Aunt Flow comes to town each month my GERD is out of control!! It all begins with the burning in the stomach and for some reason I believe hormones plays a major role for me. Right before I can usually eat whatever I want within reason but once my monthly shows up all hell breaks loose and my stomach is out of control and I really have to watch my diet big time. This month my sinuses along with the GERD have been acting up so I know how you feel.
