Hi Ashley.

There's a pretty good thread going on at the Allergy Forum right now. You can also search a bunch of my old posts on this forum.

The best website is http://www.learningtarget.com/nosulfites/index.htm It's a whole book on sulfite allergies.

How did you find out your baby is allergic? It is in a lot of baby foods, but it would be hard to diagnose in an infant. It's usually assumed to be an acquired allergy.

Hello! I hope u don't mind me jumping in here! I think I have a sulfite allergy. I have been hospitalised with allergies, woken up with my face swollen and eye swollen shut. Doc narrowed it down to a preservative but I recently made the connection to sulfides. I'd love to go without for a while to see if it makes any difference but where do I start?

Ashley, I hope ur little boy is ok. My DD has started to react so I worry I've passed on my allergies. Kids can grow out of them though so I hope ur DS does!

Alcie I will defo get that book. How did u realise u were allergic?

Thanks a mill!!

Rashy -
Yes, we have quite a few posts and website recommendations on the allergy forum.
Sulfides are not the same as sulfites or sulfates. If you think you have a problem with preservtives it's probably sulfites.

A good list of sulfited foods - whole book length!! http://www.learningtarget.com/nosulfites/index.htm
A good story about skin rashes caused by sulfites - http://www.housemouse.com/sulfites.htm
