Speaking from personal experience here, the trigger for me wasn't the acid in the coffee but was the caffeine in the coffee so any kind of low acid remedy didn't work. I ended up quitting caffeine all together and I'm really much better for it. I sleep better than I ever did when I drank coffee and I wake more rested so I don't need the upper of the coffee anymore. Probably more importantly (at least for me) when I need to be awake I can still have a little bit of caffeine and it's much more effective than it ever was before.
I know cutting out caffeine is a tough road but I ultimately found it rewarding. It's nice not to NEED a drug every morning.
