Dear All
I started having palpitations the burping 2 years ago. My GP put me on omeprazol 20mg I took this and it seemed to help. 4/6 mths later I started to have a slight beack problem that progressed into a stage where I could hardly walk. My doc felt the 2 were not related and sent me to a consultant for my back.

My acid problem  over the last 2 years has seemed to get worse. While I still have problems with my back it is not as bad but still there.

I have had a endoscopy and it shows no ulcers but I do have type B esophagitis. Before the scope  I had to be off my meds for 2 weeks, I found this hard as the acid seemed to come up my throat but I managed it with over count meds
My GP cannot tell me what Type b is so any help here please.

Also 3 mths ago we went star gazing and I seemed to stretch my esophagus giving me a lump feeling (voice box area)worse than before. Whenever I lift or raise my right arm above head height This lump feeling gets quiet bad? I also produse alot of wind and phlegm and syliva swallowing alot.Sometimes it is very har to swallow, and I get a blocked type lump feeling where my nose and throat meet.

An Mri of my mid to lower back has not shown anything out of the norm.I feel the pain is more back/shoulder area.

Omeprazol makes me feel very down and gives me bad neck and headaches and saw throat? so I am trying to get back on it slowly.

My GP is at a loss as what else to do. My last meeting with him was strange as he just said he did not know what to do and said he could not help anymore?

Any help.

Thanks X

May I suggest you seek out a second opinion and find a good Gastroenterologist who specializes in GERD and GI tract problems.

There are many other tests availabe that could help dx what is going on with you so please do be your own best advocate.

I know you will be hearing from other members as they have much experience to share.

Kindly,

I agree with kitt. See a great GI who can run the tests needed.

I agree with Kitt and Joy. Find a good GI and have tests done there are also other prescription meds that may work better than the omeprazole if it gives you problems ask your doctor for some samples before you go and fill and expensive prescrition though.

Many thanks for your reply.
In GB we have to go through a GP to see a consultant so he is the one to refer me.

Does anyone know what type B esophagitis is?

Thanks
