I had a Nissen Fundoplication with a minor Hiatal Hernia repair, on Friday 12th November.  I stayed in hospital 2 days during which time a poor job was done of pain management, and came home Sunday 14th.
Since that time I have been religious about my full liquids diet, resting but still walking...all sounds good except for the fact that I have uncontrolled pain in my chest.  I feel like I've been sucker punched; my ribs are sore and I am in tears almost daily because I am finding it hard to rise above the pain and function on any meaninful level.
It's been 10 days, and I'd really like to hear from anyone who can share their own storey, or offer me some advice :(
Thank you

Ten days...still in the post op recovery phase. Pain is very normal at this point.
What are they giving you for post op pain? They should of gave you some type of narcotic like loratab.
The rib pain is normal from all of the pushing and shoving you've suffered.
How much are eating a meal? No more than a 1/2 cup of food should be consumed during any meal.

Good sorry to hear about the pain you have! : (
I was on a dilaudid pain pump for 3 1/2 days in the hospital after my surgery and came home with dilaudid.
Honey if your meds aren't cutting it,. you call and tell them so - demand something better. There is no need for you to suffer when there is good medicine available to help.
I'm at day 20 and still occasionally having to take something when I try to get out and do activities. I'm still really sore at this point - and I cant imagine being left without good meds early on. Bless your heart.
I had NF and a HH repair too - so I'm just 10 days ahead of you healing from the same thing....
It's gonna get better - but don't you be a hero - you call the doctor and get yourself some good drugs to get you through....
