I've got terrible gas issues tonight! smhair
I've blown gas all day. nono
For lunch I ate very mild chili on corn chips with cheese, applesauce, and gingerbread.
I just came back from my favorite eating place. Small ham and cheese sandwich, small fries, and a small Dr. P.
Now I'm in total misery! smhair smhair smhair smhair
My stomach is bloated and cramping.
I'm having vegus nerve spasms in my chest and back.
I took a 300mg zantac, a laxative, phenagen, and Tums. Tums and phenagen seem to be helping the most or the combination of them all. I don't know, but it's slowly calming down.
I really over did it today. smhair mad cry skull

Word to the wise...don't over do your wrap, even at the one year mark! Ow! skull

Hi Joy,
Sorry to hear you're suffering so! Do you have any Maalox? I find that it works well to relieve a variety of stomach problems--and even helps with gas. Our stomachs are naturally more reactive--which is why we ended up with fundoplication surgery! It's hard to deal with, but it's reality for us. I put up with lots of stomach issues, mostly without complaint, because what are you going to do? It's reality.

I hope you are feeling much better by the time you read this. Don't beat yourself up at all about what you ate. You've got to live!

Take care,
Denise

*Cant stop laughing*
I cant even believe you ate those things! lol
I CAN believe you got terrible and painful gas from it though....bless your heart....

I'm glad you felt inspired enough to do it if it was what you wanted to do - but I bet it'll be a while before you do it again, huh? lol

Thank you for warning us about the consequences a year out if we misbehave.
Stomach pain and painful gas are a big deterrent now but I wondered if they would remain so - and you've likely just spared me and many others from finding out the hard way!

Thanks Joy! lol

Feel better.... *hugs*

Well, here I am awake at 1:37am. I fell asleep at 10:30 with my stomach still cramping terrible. I woke up at 12:00 on the dot sick as a dog! I barely had time to get to the bathroom. I'm have cold chills and shivers. Bug? Food poisoning? IDK.
I know now that I can throw up. Two pheregen didn't stop it. :X
I'm so sleepy, but the cramping is keeping me awake. My CPAP feels like it's smothering me. One of my kitties just stepped on my stomach. Ow!
Debating about work tomorrow... I get up in 4 hours.

Hi Joy,
I certainly hope you stayed home today! Yes, I know it's hard for a teacher to manage, but sometimes, you just have to do it!

Chills? No way it's from what you ate. It could be food poisoning, but it also could be a bug that hit like a Mack truck. I had that happen last January.

You are in the worse possible profession for staying healthy--believe me, I know! My guess is that you were exposed to a stomach bug at school, and it coincidentally hit just when you ate some no-no foods! You will probably never will.

For future reference, though, if you take Beano just prior to your first bite of gassy food, it works great. I don't think it would have solved this problem!

I hope you feel better very soon.

I'm alive...just barely...
Every thirty minutes I was either throwing up or explosive dirarriah or both. In between I'd snoze and wake up with cramp or have to run. And I do mean Run!
I stopped throwing up around 6am this morning, but I've still got terrible diarriah.
I called one of the teachers this morning to have her relay that I was sick to everyone and found out she had the same issues yesterday. She was coming back in today still tender in the stomach.
Phenagen has not helped me or immodium. I guess it will just need to get me totally empty before it stops.
I've feeling dehydrated so I'm sipping on lemon-lime gatoraide. I also had my father to bring me some ginger ale and fruit popscicles.
I'm scared to take any of my medicines due to my stomach still being so reactive. I hope and pray I didn't tear my wrap with all of the throwing up. My stomach muscles are very tender and sore. It's making so much noise my cat wants to sit on it and purr.
I've got to try to sleep some more. (Cross fingers)

Joy -

There aren't any treatments for gas in the gut, only in the stomach. You ate, and are still eating, a bunch of stuff that causes gas, so write them down and don't eat them again. Sodas, sugars, GATORAIDE, cheese, gingerbread, fries. Fruit popsicles, or any other kind too!

For a few days get off the sugars, sugar substitutes, complex carbs, soluble fibers, sodas or anything fizzy. You can eat rice and not much more.

Been there, read the medical studies! When I get bad gas I get diarrhea too.

Hope you feel better Joy! We had the stomach flu here two weeks ago. Sounds like that's what it was, lasted 3-4 days.

It's stomach flu!
I took my temperture a few minutes ago and it was 101 degrees. That explained the chills.
I took some acetimenaphen (sp?) and was able to keep it down. I topped it off with two popcicles and gatoraide.
I managed to get in about three hours of fairly pain-free sleep.
My ribs are beginning to hurt some.

Oh my goodness, Joy...that HAS to have been painful for you!!! I know that it hurts me just to cough or have the hiccups! So glad that at least you know what caused it and you can treat it now. (although I'd be really tempted to stay far away from chili corn chips anytime soon!) :)

In cases like this, do the doctors like to do any type of xray or something to check the wrap to make sure it's still okay? I've wondered about that.

Take care, Joy!!

If I suspect a slippage I can a barium swallow and EGD to check it. So far I'm still having a cough left over and it feels like I broke a rib or two when I cough. I hope this goes soon.
My stomach is calming down now. Occasional pain, but not bad.
I pray no one else gets this.

Hi Joy,
I don't think there's ANYTHING worse than a stomach bug. I'll take a cold any day--even with my asthma. Don't worry about your wrap. You had a 270, so it's looser anyway. There are many who've had fundoplications who can vomit. You're one of the lucky ones!
I hope you continue to heal and feel better.
Lucky that you have the weekend to rest up.
((((long distance hugs LOL))))

I had hard chills last night. I had heavy pjs, two blankets, and a quilt on and I was shaking so hard I couldn't control my body. My cat climbed on top of me and tried to comfort me. She tried to sleep with me all night as a comfort. This morning I'm weak and achy from all of the throwing up, but the worse is over I think. I was able to take my daily medicines and a small cinnamon roll and keep it down.
I sent my niece out to pick up some things for me and get me some chicken broth. I'm going to rest as much as I can today. I've got a ton of papers to grade at the school, but they will have to wait until tomorrow. Today is for me.
Thank you all for you're kind thoughts.

Joy,

Glad you are feeling better.  I would rather have a root canal then the flu bug.

Wondering if you have had the flu shot this season ?

Do just snuggle up today and let your body rest and recover.  Let the papers go and know you will get to them eventually but your health comes first.

Gentle Hugs to you,

Kitt

Yes, I had the full flu shot and pneumonia shot.
I looked up my symptoms and it said it could be gastroentreritis (sp?). The flu doesn't cause vomiting, diarreaha, or high fever.
Any ideas on how to cure sore rib muscles from throwing up so hard? I've taken loratab and using a heating pad. I keep wanting to cough but it's very painful. I'm scared I may have aspirated some during my attack.
