Hello all! I just thought I would update since I haven't been on here in awhile. I see that there are a few who have just had surgery or are about to, so to you all, GOOD LUCK! I couldn't be happier with my decision to have the Nissen. It has changed my life drastically. I have been on meds for so long! I refluxed with every activity of my life. I have had no sign of reflux since surgery. I have been eating normally now for about 2 weeks. I can eat ANYTHING I want and not have even a hint of reflux. It is a very bizarre, but blessed feeling! I even drank a cup of coffee a few days ago, which normally would have ruined the whole rest of the day with reflux. My bowels have finally adjusted and I am able to add back in some of the high fiber foods I ate before. I am back to my regular exercise, but still get a little winded.
If you are considering this procedure due to failed conservative measures for reflux, I would highly recommend it. Also, if you are recovering from it, hang in there! I am really suprised at how quickly I have been able to advance my diet over the past 2 weeks or so. Just take it slow the first 2 weeks. If you rush it, it is painful!
CAT, How are you doing??? It's been awhile!

Hi NW,
So glad you stopped by to post your experience! Like me, I'm sure many others are "lurking" on the forum, looking to see how people are responding to the Nissen surgery. I'm happy to hear you're doing so well. See? It's not half as bad as you expect!
Thanks again for posting!
