I read here that green tea can cause the LES to relax.  Is that true?  I have noticed after drinking it, I can get more pain from my acid reflux.  What warm drinks do you have that don't affect your reflux?

Good afternoon,

Chocolate and caffeine - any drink that has caffeine in it like soda, coffee, tea, plus alochol or citrus juices can lead to the relaxation of the LES.

I am sure others will have info for you too.

I love green tea and I drink lots of it, but in order to avoid caffeine, I just get the decaf packages of green tea. That way I can enjoy it without worrying about symptoms.

Hi there all
Glad to hear that one can get decaf green tea ... hasnt seen it around .. what I've been doing is making myself a cup of Milo, as you would make coffee .. using just two teaspoons,  filling up with boiling water, a good stir and just adding a bit of milk as you would to a cup of coffee ... that went down well without affecting me -
Good luck!
