This is my number one problem as well. Lack of appetite and nausea can cause me to lose 10lbs in no time. It use to stress me out so bad that I didn't even want to think about food..at all! It still happens but mostly in the morning when the last thing I want to do is think about food when my stomach feels so bad. What I try to do now is not to WORRY so much about not eating. I figure if I don't eat until maybe a little later in the day I will be o.k...i won't die. Just eat when you do feel hungry, don't feel forced to because then you just get stressed out about it. If you do start to feel even a little hungry just have something light like cereal or peanut butter on bread or toast and drink lots of water. I also take a zegerid in the morning and it usually kicks in a few hours later and I feel like I can eat a little something. Don't stress and best of luck!

It's my main symptom too. Have you tried any anti nausea meds? Reglan helps me the best but have to watch out for the side effects. I try to do something to keep my mind off of it since I get it no matter what/how much I eat. Seems to help a little bit. Mine gets even worse when my anxiety is acting up.

Tinlou: Your right, when i think about to much (which i usually do!) it makes it even worse and dont seem to get hungry at all. Yea ive noticed that when i eat after hearing my stomach growl i feel a lot them then eating just because i feel i should.
Thank you :)

Babygirl: No i havent. What are the main side affects? Aww yea i get really bad anxiety, i have a fear of vomiting. Very inconvenient when you are feeling nauseous all the time lol.
Thank you =D

I hope we helped a little for you. Lack of appetite and nausea is the worst but i just tell myself if I don't eat a whole lot that day I will still be fine eventually and will eat when I am ready, not because i feel that I have to or am suppose to at a certain time. It takes the pressure off that is for sure.

Yes you did!

I guess the pressure of putting on the weight is what drives me crazy!

My life revolves around my stomach and food. I am constantly focusing on every sound and movement that goes on in there lol
Im obssessed! lol. I seriously get soo happy when im hungry! thats the highlight of my day. But then as soon as i eat, i have to go through the pain and wait for the hour that i can get again.

It sucks

I take phenagan for nausea. You can get a perscription from your doctor.

Does it help much? I've only ever been prescribed domperidone and it didn't ease my symptoms at all. Thanks for sharing.

Is there also an otc nausea medicine or are they prescription only?

+IWillbe, I don't exactly hate it when I lose weight. As much as I exercise and eat right this GERD always makes me lose more than those two ever could...lol. It is funny though how when I do start to feel hungry again how normal that makes me feel. I feel as if I am going to be o.k. and it is nice to actually "want" to eat.

Phenegan at the 25mg level works for me. My new doctor unfortunately changed it to 12.5 mg and it didn't help when I caught the stomach flu.

The only OTC med I found was Nauzene that's basically a sugar pill. The prescription ones I've tried are Zofran, Reglan, and Phenergan. Zofran works ok as long as it's the dissolvable tablets. Reglan works best for me but have to watch out for the side effects. Phenergan just made me tired.

Thank you all for the help :)

Tinlou: having medical conditions really teaches you to appreciate the smaller things in life huh?
So called "normal" people dont think twice about being hungry and having the advantage of eating without pain or n*

I agree with you totally. I envy those who can eat whatever they want and whenever they want without having to think twice about how it will effect them. I am grateful though that this isn't some life threatening condition and realize that at any given time there is someone out there way worse than me.
