Had a good lap nissen surgery at the end of December and am doing okay.  Surgeon was really pleased and he's done a lot of them--about forty a year for the past seventeen years.  Things seem to be healing well, but I have a few concerns:'
  • I often have a bubble of air near my Adam's apple--anybody know what that is.  It can be there when I eat and when I don't.
  • What about fatigue after this surgery?  I don't want to be a wimp about it, but I really am fatigued and its day 20.
  • Lastly, what about a bit of depression?  Is that normal?

Love the forum, you guys have been very helpful.

You just had major surgery. It takes months to completely recover. Fatigue is not unusual, and maybe the depression is caused by that. It's pretty boring going through the limited diet at first and building back up slowly. It took me 8 months to really feel better, but I am a senior.

If depression is serious get help!

Do you by any chance have a bit of anemia? You may have to ask the doc about that.

Tell the doc about the throat feeling. I get some mucus sitting in the same place. It's probably nothing important and will lessen with time.
