feeling so good yesterday that I did quite a bit of walking around the house and spent too much time talking to coworkers on the phone. Unfortunately, it caught up with me and I had a terrible time trying to get comfortable last night. My dr. said the 6 hours between doses of pain med is just a guideline. Took it 3 hours apart for the rest of the night and morning and got things under control. Definitely not hungry, but the smell of food doesn't nauseate me like it did the day I got home. Have lost 6 pounds! 15 more and I'll be where I belong. Somebody had asked "would you do it again?" ABSOLUTELY My advice would be to research. I have 2 great surgeons who were willing to see me and answer my questions any time over a 5 month period. I may have been nervous, but was confident. I'm glad to see this site is so positive, because there is an overwhelming amount of negative info about this surgery and recovery out there.

HI, I am weeks away from my year anniversary date and I am so happy I had this done.
My Father passed from esophageal cancer and that is from GERD, I was on my way as I had it for years and took many meds and they didn't work.
Honestly, the few few months after my surgery I was depressed thinking what a mistake I made and I would never be "normal" again. Every 6-8 weeks I made a turn for the better but this website and all the great help I received is what made me make it through.
I'm happy your are feeling well. Just remember it takes almost a year to recover and pamper yourself.

I am glad to hear you are doing well - way to go.  Yes, do use your pain medication as needed as your body will know when you don't need it.
I think I need the wrap as I could maybe lose some of this crappy weight.
Keep on posting your progress.
