I'm getting a second opinion later this week. Just wondering what I should be asking. My stomach has been very angry the last week-ish and I've barely been able to eat anything. I usually have a piece of toast or a few crackers in the afternoon and two drinks to take my meds. I'm so dry! I tried two ice cubes crushed up but even that didn't sit well. I sure hope this new dr can figure this out before I wither away!

Hi Michelle,
My guess is that your stomach is reacting to a succession of assaults within the same year. It generally takes a full year for one Nissen to heal completely. I would think that your stomach has reasons to be angry, having had three tussles with the surgeon within the course of a year.

Be sure to write down what you've experienced...starting with your first surgery, then each successive one. If you're like me, you'll forget anything that isn't in writing. Sometimes (depending on the doc) it helps to type and bullet point your comments, leaving space between each entry to make it easy to read. Then just hand it over to the doc and let him read through and comment as he goes. As I said, some docs like this, some don't. If you try that, make sure to keep it very to-the-point and not very wordy.

In any case, you can hang onto your list and it will remind you what to say.
Good luck with your appointment! I'll look forward to hearing what the surgeon you see has to say. I hope your eating issues improve very soon. Hopefully the doc you see will have some ideas as to how to improve things short term.
Take care!
Denise

I'll have to go back through my posts since I'm not sure what started when. It's kind of a big blur by now. I tried the crushed ice last night and it came back up. Same as this morning. I called my dr's office but they are closed due to the weather. I'm not too sure what to do now. I took my zofran but that didn't help.
