I am 12 since my nissen and my whole chest area is sore like I have been lifting weights which I can assure you I have not ...the only thing I can think is that I have sat at the computer a bit more rather than laying down more..
I really haven't had much pain or soreness like this untill today..
Swallowing is ok this sorness is clear across my ribcage..I hope its normal I plan on lying down more tomarrow ...I also ran out of my liquid loratab and am tking loratab in pill form that I have for my bad shoulder and I don't think it works as well...
I was also constipated this morning even after taking a laxitive last night could that little bit of pressure of made my ribs sore ? I took more laxitive tonight hopfully it works by morning ...thanks for reading I hope I feel better by morning :-/

Hi badreflux,

Welcome to Healing Well! At 12 days post op, your insides are in the process of healing. In addition, there could be residual gas (pumped into your body to make it easier to view the surgical field) floating around that could cause pain in locations other than the shoulder.

Sitting up longer than usual could certainly stress your healing insides.
That said, I'm not a doctor, and a call to your surgeon's office would be in order.

I hope you're feeling better after some rest.
Let us know how you do and what you find out!

I'm 14 days out and had the same pains you did yesterday. I decided to try to stay up all day, including grocery shopping (I didn't do any lifting) and washing dishes, just a few. I was overcome with chest pain for over an hour. I crushed the pill, as I too ran out of liquid. I hadn't had a bowel movement for about 5 days. Dr. said use milk of magnesia. Turned out not to be necessary come yesterday afternoon.
