Can anyone explain as to just what long term injury is and how do you know if you have it or not. Just why do attorneys ask for this information as we know about our own bodies and what is happening inside of them. Can the attorneys read and understand the medical records that these doctors have on us??? All i know, is that my surgery was a mistake on my doctors part and i now have to live with it. Long term or not, it is very upsetting to me and it has affected my lifestyle in the way i go out with people and the foods i use to be able to eat. Please reply thanks bob

Hi Bob,
Hopefully someone with technical information/law degree will stop by and explain that term to you. As far as I am concerned, if you are no longer able to live your life as you did prior to the surgery, and the surgery was intended to improve, rather than diminish your quality of life, THAT qualifies as long term injury.
Just a thought,
Denise

Hello Denise: Thanks for your reply. I have heard from an attorney and the very first thing he asked me, was is this going to be a long term injury. My reply was, that i have no idea. All i know is that i am having serious problems after this surgery. After the surgery and my liquid diet, my weight was 165. Now, with the bloating, gas, rejection of food and the pain associated with all of this, i now weigh 190. Yet i am eating next to nothing. Had some homemade beef stew last night that i make and have been eating with no problems. Yet last night, it started coming up on me and for the first time i did vomit up food and with it, bright red stringy blood. I am really worried as to what is going on inside of me as my stomach medication of protonix 40mg 2 per day, is no longer working and neither is my naussa medication. I am hoping on seeing another doctor at a different hospital in another county if it can be arranged. If the bleeding continues - then the er room at the hospital - am going back to a liquid diet/soft food if my stomach can handle that. Take care Denise shall keep you all informed. Thanks bob
