I am still in pain bloated with gas constipated. I decided to do a no no to the gerd world. Especially with so much inflammation. I drank a very weak cup of coffee with rice milk and It actually woke my sleeping system up. My digestive system moves so slowly. I bloat after each meal and do not expell gas. After any surgery i am horrible filled with gas.  Can gas contribute to having gerd and not acid???? I have been told its the gas in my intestines pushing everything up.  The doctor keeps telling me its not to much or to little acid with me. Its my IBS. A brain and gut problem. I have suffered from slow moving bowels my whole life. And when I am stressed and In pain it gets worse. Pain causes more stress. I am a person that analyzes everything. I do not know y. I have been that way my whole like even when I am relaxed I am still thinking. Yet when I sleep unless I am in major pain I do not dream until my body starts getting awakw and I fall back to sleep. So fellow forum friends could this really be the underlying problem??? I react to all the ppi's and antacids and carafate burn worse.

Good Morning,
I am wondering if you have had a colonoscopy ?  My GI physician dx my IBS and I had many of the same sx as you have posted.
Choose the correct foods to help eliminate gas formation in the gut and acid reflux. Certain foods cause gas, some cause reflux and some foods can cause both.

Fat takes a long time to leave the stomach during digestion. Also, since fat lingers in your stomach, there is more opportunity for it to be forced up through the esophageal sphincter and cause reflux. Choose alternative cooking methods like baking, grilling, roasting and broiling and do not add extra fat during the cooking process.

There are some reflux sufferers who also have problems with gas and indigestion, and those problems mixed with acid reflux are enough to make anyone miserable.
I hope you make that appointment with your Dr. to help answer some of your questions.
