My burning is back in full force, to the point it feels like it's going to come out my nose. Is this even possible after 3 nissens?!?! I take 20 mg Aciphex twice a day plus Zantac at night and nothing helps. I haven't eaten anything except for saltines the last two weeks and only drink when I need to take a med. This is just ridiculous. I'm constantly tired from no food intake. Everytime I eat it wants to come back up and I end up sitting in the bathroom for hours waiting for it. My GI tells me to talk to my surgeon and my surgeon wants to send me hours away. I can't take much more of this. I guess this turned into a vent. Oops

Vent away as I can only imagine how much pain and frustration you are in.  Do you have any info on the Drs. or facility your surgeon want to send you too ?

It does sound like you have been through the run around and no ideas from the Drs. that have helped you with the pain.

Here to support you.

Kindly,

Kitt

I don't even know the name of the place he wants me to go to. He said they would call me with an appt and that was about a month ago and I haven't heard anything. I feel like I'm being swept under the rug because nobody wants to deal with it when I don't have a choice. I'm beyond frustrated and sick of taking meds that don't work.

Well I got a call from my GI this morning and she doesn't have anymore suggestions except go to Mayo in Minnesota. This is the second dr that says they can't do anything else. I can't go to Milwaukee much less Minnesota so I guess I have to come to terms that I'm stuck like this.

Ah sweetie,  have you no way to get to Mayo ?  Do they have any grant money to help you pay to get there - call Mayo clinic and talk to them as they often help out people without funding from what I have heard.

Do you belong to a church that might be able to help you with the finances?

I am going to toss one more hospital out to you as it may be easier to get to depending on where you are located.  Gundersen Lutheran Hospital , La Crosse, WI.

Gundersen Lutheran's department of Gastroenterology (GI) specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the:
  • Esophagus
  • Stomach
  • Small intestine
  • Colon
  • Pancreas
  • Biliary ducts
  • Liver
Here is a link should you want to take a look.  I feel your current has not met your needs so advocate for yourself.

I have read good things about this hospital but I am only posting it for an option and am not connected to it in anyway.

Kindly,
Kitt

I don't belong to a church. I think I could come up with the money to get there but I wouldn't have a babysitter or anyone to bring the kids to school. That's my main problem. I will definitely ask my dr if they can refer me to someone at La Crosse. I think it might be the same distance as Milwaukee. Thanks Kitt!

Michelle,

I sure do understand your problem with the children. I was a single parent of 3 young children  for a year and the problems of trying to work full time and find a stable sitter to come into my home were daunting.

Couple of ideas, could you call your local social services to see if there is a program that perhaps help with the children while you are gone ?  Also do you have a family services in your area that may be able to give you some resources ?

Any good friends, or family that could help you out ?

I am here to support you in anyway I can.  Keep us posted on what you find out.

Gentle Hugs,
Kitt
