I see so many bad reports about doctors that I thought I'd add a good one. My symptoms seem to be improving, so the GI wants to take me off of the PPI (60mg Dexilant) and put me on 300mg Zantac. He also said that he wants me to have a social life and said it's fine to experiment with moderate coffee/alcohol (no more than one/day) and foods. I'm elated.

One thing really surprised me: he said I shouldn't expect any acid rebound going from the PPI to Zantac. Has anyone had any experience going from PPI to H2 blocker? Did you have acid rebound?

mike I went from Zantac to PPI so I do not have an answer for you. I do hope it works for you and good to read you have faith in your Dr.  That is a good thing.
