Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but sure am glad to find it. I had surgery 8 years ago and at first it was touch and go. problems eating and such. I had to have my wrap stretched 5 times(the max the doctor told me). I eventually got passed the worse and then things were good. no meds. I still can not vomit which I am very careful about what I eat and always check experation dates :)
The problem is that I have this aweful pain in my right upper abdomen lately and it really is annoying and painful. it dose not seem to be bothered by food. I have not done anything physical to cause it and it feels like there's pressure and sometimes sharp pains.
I know this may seem like generic symptoms but they came on without warning.

Another question for anyone...are you always hungry?? I am always hungry. I am a small person (118lbs and 5ft 7)I can eat all day and still be hungry.

Thanks for any help.

Hi CC019100,
Welcome to Healing Well! It's great to hear that even though your early days of recovery were difficult, your wrap is doing well 8 years later.

Sorry to hear you're having pains in your abdomen. It sounds like something you might want to get checked out. Do you still have your gallbladder?

I found this site online and thought it might be helpful, if you haven't already seen it. Hope you get answers soon!

I haven't heard of constant hunger as a result of the surgery, but maybe others will be by soon to share their own experience. I do know that some don't have the ability to know when they're full during the recovery, but not specifically the hunger thing.

Good luck!
Denise

My off switch doesn't work for me. Ever since the surgery I can't tell when I'm full. I just fix one serving of food on my plate and eat only it. No seconds. :(
I do allow a snack a day, but only three meals a day.
