What wrap? Can you explain? I would love to find some non-medication treatment for this. Generally my GERD manifests itself as chest pain (dull ache beneath the breast area and radiating around the ribs, up to the shoulder, and down the arm a bit) and stomach knots. Would your "wrap" method help?

The "wrap" is the Nissen fundoplication that we talk about. It's a surgery with a pretty high success rate (as long as you have an experienced surgeon). Especially effective for those who have taken pills and still have breakthrough symptoms.

Cheri, glad to hear that you are doing great!

Cheri, I know the thrill! :))
Still be careful of the diet and don't rush it. You'll continue to swell until day 14 so your swallowing might get tough over the next week. If it gets too rough switch to liquids for a couple of days.

Congratulations!!! I feel absolutely the same way you do.. I am now 5 weeks post surgery and I have had no problems at all.. I have taken my surgeons advice and I stayed on full liquids for almost 3 weeks..( I was able to eat baked/broiled fish after 2 1/2 weeks) mostly liquid, cream soup, cream of wheat, grits and after 2 weeks I had soft boiled egg. Please always remember to take small bites and the mantra at this forum is CHEW CHEW CHEW. This procedure has changed my life for the better and I am so happy I had it done, the same as you are.
