Hello all. As suggested by Denise (Thank-You) I'm posting this in the hope of finding out as much as possible about the new LINX procedure before I go & talk about it with the Consultant next week-end.

I was offered the Nissan but having talked through the op with a Surgeon, I honestly didn't feel it was for me. I burp & belch all the time & the idea that I wouldn't be able to again was very off-putting. Also the weight loss involved & not being able to eat solid food for some time. Call it what you will, but every instinct was telling me not to do it!!

So having tried to manage on Ranitidine, antacids, & Gaviscon Advance, I was excited to read about the new LINX procedure. I'm really hoping it will sort me out, but would obviously like as much info as I can get before I bankrupt myself!! Any help gratefully received.

Hope everyone's as well as they can be.

Thanks Jan

Hi Jan,
Glad to see you've posted on the main page! Hopefully someone will be by soon! The weekends seem to be a bit less busy here, but you never know. Good luck finding lots of information from others who've had the procedure.

Have you tried the search engine at the top right of the page--just under the "Join HealingWell" tab? You might find some good information if you do.

Take care,

I'd still go for the Nissen, maybe ask about a partial wrap. The alternatives don't have such a good record for success. If the wrap is a bit loose, floppy, you may still be able to burp. A lot of us can! If your surgeon is VERY experienced - thousands and a good record - I'd listen to the expert.

I lost NO weight with my op. I just ate a little every hour or two, whatever I could tolerate.

My surgeons do a lot of revisions of the alternative ops that fail.

Hello Beargirl,

Did you meet with the surgeons? Are you going to go ahead with the Linx? I am also considering it but not decided yet. I have seen some very negative stuff on here from people who have had it... Having said that there is some very positive stuff too from Slicer and Shooz
