Well the old vocal cords are red from aicd reflux he said. I am now taking 60 mg. of Dixlatin and he wants me to add 2 zantacs at bedtime. I go back in two months. If no better then a ph test of stomach acid. He said he thinks we are headed to surgery though....wrap.
The scope was not bad at all. Thought it would be scary but I made it.
I guess time to do some research on the surgery. Crazy thing is my oldest daughter may have to have the same surgery. She has severe reflux too. Does this problem run in families. I had an uncle to die from cancer of the esophagus. Scary.

Hi Sheila,
Well, you got that test out of the way. I'm assuming you had the scope through the mouth. I'll bet you got some good pictures! It sounds like they were very red. Hopefully your new meds will do the trick, and you'll be fine without surgery. If you need it, you know we're all here to help you through!
Take care,

There's several great videos on Youtube showing the surgery if you have to have the gorey details. :)
There are several type of gerd surgery:Nissen, toupet, hill, TIF, Linx

I had the Modified Hill which is a 270 degree wrap. I'm doing well at 18 months post-op.
