Anyone read heartburn away or have it?

So I have GERD and this is the 1st time on forums. I know the cure for this has to be in the alternative nutrition rather than medicine. What does his bk tlk about anyone know? Like the 5 steps. Honestly I got laid off so don't have a job going to school but I have no money.

I have all the symptoms n know the possible ramifications just want to know what works how do I get rid of it burping , bloated, n acid taste in the morning like I said I reasearch details but I want to know If ppl know the cure or outlying cause. I already eat less n smaller portions, bed is propped up, don't eat late nite, no spicy, carbonated drinks, caffeine or fattening food but once a while. I have bloating n burping the whole day. Thanks ppl nice to hear there r ppl who care for each other

This is nickles again, or can someone tell me what they have used to cure their GERD?

I am using Mastic gum as of now
I was using about a year ago all those med pills but stopped
Can't find relief...how can i tell if i have to much acid or little acid? I am in my early 20's so i dont have insurance or can't go to the dr. so i have to find something natural..please help someone or has anyone read the "Heartburn away book"?

I've not read or heard of the book.
Can you take an over the counter PPI? For example: zegrad, prevacid, zantac?
Instead of stopping them at 14 days keep taking them until you can see a doctor.

If you are getting lots of bloating and gas try only rice see if that works it doesn't produce gas in the digestive tract supposedly and it worked for me. Eat your meats first and then veggies and carbs after, stomach only helps break down protein and the layer of carbs(rice, etc) my help with the reflux pain as it may absorb the acid. dont drink liquids 40 min before or 2 hours+ after you eat. Takes time for the liquid to pass the stomach and you don't want to put food in your stomach or have a stomach full of fluid when you eat since it will slow down your stomach digestive process.

So you mean just take out rice out of my diet or replace my other carbs with rice instead? I do eat rice but I still feel bloated.

My symptoms are manageable but still bothersome
I burp the whole day even before I eat and after, feel bloated when I eat sometimes... Then when I wake up i do get some acid depending if I sleep propped up in my bed.

What I don't eat.........
Soda
Fatty foods
Carbonated drinks
Tea
Chillie
Tomatoes-use to eat them but cut them out
Dark Chocolate-once every 2 weeks one small piece

What I do eat.....
Breakfast- Oatmeal with blueberrie/bananas
Brunch-Cereal Bars/Mixed nuts

Lunch-many times sandwich tky based with swiss with spinach

Dinner-varies
beans, rice, chicken, tortillas, chicken hot dogs, quesadillas, but no fried foods.. Sometimes and apple or papaya.

Only drink water

I have been reading that if you cut down on carbs you can eliminate GERD...Idk, I think that book "Heartburn no more" talks about this to eliminate the real cause..but I dont have the book cant afford it.

So I am not sure what else to do..

As of now I am trying Mastic Gum
Have you or anyone tried plant base enzymes for digestion like "CompleteGest" does this help?

I heard so many "cures" aloe vera, papaya extract enzymes, digestive enzymes, also research what can protect your esophaugas a natural fruit, Black Raspberries they were studied at the University of Ohio...for those are looking to protect their esophaugas..Google Black Raspberries and the studies for it at Ohio...
I bough the past/jam all natural but I think frozen or fresh are better but not sure where to get it in Los Angeles?
I went to Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Sprouts ...whole foods had the paste and teas...

Finally-I want to try the low carb but I am not to thrilled because I weigh about 145 and 5'8 so i would lose weight...any thoughts or suggestions ppl. thanks glad I found this place.
