Hi there, Im in desperate search of some answers, and i cant seem to get any from doctors, so i thought i would give this a shot..

Ive been having off and on pain in the top part of my stomach (in the middle, right under the rib cage) for the last say.. 3 years. I had my 3rd child almost 6 months ago, and since he was born, everything has been getting worse.

It always feels like a dull aching, and sometimes it feels like its being twisted and pinched. On the 1-10 scale, i would rate it as a 4. im able to tolerate it, i would say its more irritating that anything else. Though, twice now in the last few months.. I have awoke in the middle of the night to intense stomach pain in the same spot, but instead of subsiding eventually like it normally does, it gradually got so much worse over a 15 minute period. It got soo bad that i ran myself a hot bath to try to ease it, but scalded myself to the point my skin peeled off the following day because i didnt even notice getting burnt in the midst of this pain. It was worse than labour pain! I was taken to hospital by ambulance, and as per usual they did nothing for me and sent me home with no answers (though the pain eventually subsided) This happened once more, and i didnt even bother going to the hospital because they have never done anything for me. That time i ended up vomitting because i was in so much pain, and then after i finished vomitting i swallowed some liquid gaviscon, and it went away. Now ive come to the conclusion that, that intense pain was being triggered by a glass of wine both times.
I went to this new doctor, and he thought i had H pylori, so sent me to get blood work done, and that came out negative, although he told me that my liver enzyme count was high and it looked like my liver was a bit beat up. Ive never been a heavy drinker, so he ruled that out as a cause. He did a blood work up and also ruled out Hep C, and Celiac disease. He suspected liver stones, (i had all the symptoms, like it was me in a nut shell) but the ultra sound came up negative. Shortly after this, i started experiencing pain in my liver. A dull aching pain that comes and goes and doesnt seem to triggered by anything in particular. They want to do the test where they send a scope down my stomach, but i cant get it done until next summer, and dont know if i can hang in there that long! Along with the pain, i just feel a general discomfort in my stomach area, and have a difficult time standing longer than 5 minutes. I burp like crazy, and sometimes that eases it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

As of now I am trying Mastic Gum and Probiotics
Have you or anyone tried plant base enzymes for digestion like "CompleteGest" does this help?

I heard so many "cures" I have not tried none of the ones belowe but will

Aloe vera,
Papaya extract enzymes,
Digestive enzymes,
Probiotics,
Low Carb diet
Probiotics
Apple Cider Vinegar

Research all these remedies or "cures" see if any help or in a combination

If you have recently had a baby I wonder if it is structural? I would ask your GP or primary physician to check for a hernia. You could also try some over the counter ranitidine at night to see if it helps. I have not found any rapid relief from any natural remedies, especially with respect to pain. I would try to get a more accurate diagnosis before you experiment with natural remedies: you may need a gastroscopy or a barium swallow.

Hope you're better soon; illness and small children does not mix well. I know cos I've got that t-shirt!

Thanks to everyone for the imput. Yes, ive had my gullbladder checked, and its normal. I was thinking maybe it was something structural aswell because sometimes i feel like my stomach is in my chest, and it cuts my breathe. Ive had x-rays done of my stomach though and they are comming up normal. I was on nexium for about a month, but it didnt seem to help. My doctor told me a few months back that he thinks i may be having spasms in my stomach, but there isnt much i can take right now because im breastfeeding. Ive tried cutting coffee out of my diet, foods with a high fat content ect.. but nothing seems to work. I am so frusterated with this, i feel like i have no quality of life. I have 3 little ones to take care of, but you know, i struggle just with taking care of myself.
A friend suggested that i go and see a herb doctor, but i guess im a little bit skeptical.
