Have had esophagitis caused by (nsaids) For two months now, dont have as much heartburn as i use to but now i get short of breath all the time and my eyes always feel heavy, its been this way since i got out of the hospital. Dont know what it could be. I cant work cause head feels cloudy and eyes want to close and i cant exert myself too much or i get out of breath. Miss being able to do the simple things i use to enjoy. Anybody have these symptoms or similar? Can suck on hard candy but cant chew gum cause i can hardly breathe. Ugh! So frustrated. Whats it going to be next:(

Did they give you a sedative? It might be having a hard time clearing your system.

Your oxygen level might be low. Can you get your doctor to check your pulse oxygen level?

Many different things can cause it. The main thing is your lungs are not processing oxygen properly. Talk to your doctor about this.

My breathing troubles come from asthma and sleep apnea.

Do you know if you could be anaemic? That would give you tiredness and dizziness. You could also have sinus trouble as that can give you the feeling that you want to close your eyes- would also give you headaches. If exertion leaves you out of puff then you need to get checked for anaemia, unless you have asthma? Possible to have anaemia AND asthma of course!

what is anaemia? I have never heard of that. Ive been in the anxiety foreum cause ive been having really bad attacks lately. Went to the er the other night and they made me feel like it was all in my head. They said my ekg was fine, xrays negative and my oxygen level was at 99, but why do i still get out of breath and dizzy when i stand up? all they said is i have a upper r.i. And Sinusitis. Add that to the bad acid reflux and anxiety attacks, not good for me. Makes it unable for me 2 work. Dont have any energy to do anything besides lay in bed. Really could use some support right now.

Anaemia is low iron levels in the blood, which reduce the red blood cells' ability to transport oxygen around the body. It makes you tired, dizzy and breathless. If you had blood tests in the E.R. then they may well have already tested for it.

Some drugs cause a low blood pressure as a side effect; that can give you dizziness that occurs on going from sitting to standing, or lying to standing. That kind of dizziness is transient - once you've been upright a couple of minutes it passes.

Sinusitis can also cause dizzines and if you do have an infection there that would certainly make you feel unwell. Sinusitis typically gives you a headache when you bend over forwards.

For sinusitis/cold symptoms you could try inhaling steam, especially good with menthol crystals in or olbas oil, if you have any. Eucalyptus also good to put in the steam. When my sinuses are really bad I also just sniff the steam from a hot drink (or just hot water), as that's easy to do in bed! If you do have a cold/sinusitis type thing right now (which the hospital seems to have said) then you've probably also recently had a virus and that could also give you tiredness. When I have sinusitis and the heavy eyes that go with that, lots of steam really helps relieve the associated headache - faster than paracetamol in my case.

Try to find out if anyone has checked your bloods for anaemia and also check for low blood pressure on the list of side effects of any medication you are on. Meanwhile try some steam as that will relieve any sinus trouble.

Hope you feel better soon.

That's good, make sure you clearly mention the tiredness and dizziness. Might be worth asking to have your thyroid function checked too, as low thyroid can cause tiredness. Even if stress and anxiety are playing a part, they should still rule out sensible causes of some of your symptoms!
