I did a search on Lettuce but the finds were across the board; not specific to GERD. I wonder if searches can be forum specific; kept within the forum your in.

Now, my question.

Is lettuce a trigger? Or are certain kinds of Lettuce triggers.

I love salads but I just put myself on a strict GERD diet; because Omeprazole, 40mg, twice a day, isn't working for me. But I don't don't see Lettuce on any lists; good or bad.

My sister finds lettuce gives her indigestion, but it depends what she has it with. It's either better with bread or worse with bread, can't remember what her trigger situation is but I know she has to be careful with it!

Wonder if you are putting any dressing on the lettuce like in a salad ?

Bread is a trigger for me. Some people do have allergies to lettuce, but you'd have to try lettuce alone. If you think you have a true allergy to lettuce - throat swelling, etc, don't do it without the OK of an allergist!
