Our little 3 month old grand daughter has been vomiting like a projectile vomit. Dr has put her onto Losec liquid, tastes so foul but not seeming to help much. She is vomiting up to 5 times a day , have tried giving less more often but makes no difference. Bed is raised, she was given gaviscon to start with but this made her constipated, then given the losec. Is the granulated losec better tolerated than the liquid and dr says that not to worry about her vomiting as she will be still getting enough nutrition but she is not keeping much if any down and it comes vertually straight back up. Am also now wondering if she has a lactose intolerence. Dr refused to send her to a paediatrition but mother has demanded it now.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Get her to the ER!
Don't wait. A child that small can dehydrate quickly.
Go!

Hi lazka,
I'm so sorry to hear that your little granddaughter is having such trouble with eating. Infants can have reflux, and one of the symptoms can be vomiting. Generally, from what I understand, as long as the infant is gaining weight well, they just watch it and don't intervene. I do think your insistence on seeing a pediatrician about the condition is the right course of action.

You may have already run across this website, but if not, you might find it helpful.

I wish you the best of luck in finding an answer. Glad you've joined us! Hopefully other members will be by soon to share their own experiences.
Take care,
Denise

I agree with Joy, Please take her straight to the ER...

My grandson had these symptom but he was about 3 weeks old when it started. He had Pyloric Stenosis.. they tested him for everything.. we took him to childrens hospital... he had surgery at 4 weeks for it. He is now 25 and weighs about 250.

I mention this only as a "could it be" if they run into a wall on your precious baby's diagnosis.. don't let them keep sending her home saying it could be the flu. we think it is reflux..etc etc.. Please let us know how she is...prayers are coming your way for her...

The dr has put her onto the losec granules now and she is doing so much better, no projectile vomiting, just a little spill now and then after wind. YEAH
