Hi, My 10 year old broke his arm in January at school and he had to have surgery. Shortly after he complained of his throat hurting. We told him it was probably the breathing tube during the surgery irritated his throat. Well it did not go away and he started to hum quite often and he said that relieved the pressure. I had taken him to ENT and they did an endoscopy and said everything looked ok. He still had no relief so our family Dr. had a barium swallow done and said he did have GERD. He put him on 150mg Zantac twice a day and he did get some relief but now he has the sensation back and is squeaking while exhaling. Sound like a mouse squeaking. He does have asthma also and it is not a wheeze from asthma, he says it feels like something is there and helps him to breathe while pushing out and it makes a loud squeaking noise. Has anyone else heard of this? He does have a severe egg allergy also I should add. Thanks so much in advance for any info or comments.... very frustrating and embarassing for him.
