I have been coming off 6 months of PPI usage and attempting to eliminate them for good. My stomach has largely been fine with this, but I've had a number of symptoms in my chest. It is not a burning pain, but more like the irritation and feeling of heaviness you get with a chest cold. At the end of a breath you have an unsettled feeling in there. The day it was the worst, my chest area felt like you do if you over-exert in cold weather. The feeling is in my chest, but frankly I can't tell if it's in my lungs or my esophagus.

I have never experienced the "burning" most people mention with heartburn, but I've not really heard it described like I do above. Anyone experience this?

The feeling could be from the vegus nerve being irritated.
