Hi! Two weeks ago I posted a thread here about recently being diagnosed with Gerd. This forum was so helpful.
So after 3 weeks of not eating anything that tastes good (haha) I caved in and had three welches fruit snack packs today! cry I know, it was so stupid!! Anyways I got this feeling that I was also getting in the beginning of my gerd adventures. In addition to the burning and aching feeling in my chest, when the pain gets really bad, I get this really weird sensation. I swear it feels like I can feel my esophagus closing in on itself- it's like I can feel the two opposite sides of it touching/sticking together and then slowly opening again. The feeling is in the middle or lower part of my sternum when it happens. I heard GERD can cause esophageal spasms. Is this what one feels like? I also read in multiple topics on this forum about GERD aggravating asthma. I don't have asthma that I know of but other members of my extended family do. Could it be asthma? Have any of you experienced anything like this?

Thank goodness I have my endoscopy on the 21st...

Thank you!

That might have been a spasm. Stay away from the fruit packs....
