Four years ago I was diagnosed with prostate (gleason 6 t1c) cancer. Healthcare information forums became a invaluable resource for me to make a treatment decision. When I saw a surgeon they recommend surgery and when I saw a radiologist they recommend radiation. What I couldn't find was one resource that only focused on treatment options. After hundreds of hours of research I found I had 5 choices all with statistically the same out come. I then researched each one of them, a process that took another hundred plus hours to make my decision on treatment and where to go for it. I picked HDR for me so-far-so-good my PSA is 0.21 it was 6.5 .
What I realized was there was no one source that I could go to and get multiple opinions on treatment options.
My background is healthcare information initiatives I have developed campaigns for 96 TV stations in 43 cities .
