I am the type who asks the dr. everything, but even after over 3 years w/ GERD this article had so much new information. I am a difficult case to diagnose and I wonder if I don't have NERD or another non-erosive type of reflux. The only thing contradicting this is that in the beginning PPI's did help my symptoms (not anymore, today they can go away all by themselves regardless of diet/pills, and be present when I am on 80mg Nexium)...

Great article IMO

Not light reading, but it helped me understand the issue of chest pain.  I haven't had much heartburn, so it is hard to tell if meds are helping.  I sometimes still feel that beginning tightness in my chest in spite of eating carefully.

Thanks for posting the link.  The article is definitely not light reading and was written in 2006, however, if one reads the info writtten in layman's terms there are interesting and helpful points.
