I am on daily NSAIDS for management of pain and inflammation. After a few weeks, I started having GERD symptoms. I now take ranitidine 300 mg twice a day. It mostly controls the symptoms, but I still have occasional heartburn and belch more frequently than I used to. Does this mean the GERD is not being adequately controlled?

Yes, it does.
Which NSAIDS are you taking?

i have been told by my PCP and my GI doc and i have read, that aspirin and other NSAIDs promote acid reflux

i have also read that small doses of aspirin substantially lower the risk that reflux will turn to cancer of the esophagus

and

some days i cant function without aspirin (and a half cup of coffee) so i pay the price

DGL- licorice can help protect your stomach and so does Zinc Carnisone, look into this, these are natural supplements.

They help the stomach membran and lessen the damage when taking these sort of drugs.
