I had the endoscopy this morning and although the report said normal fundus of stomach, body of stomach, antrum, pyloris, duodenal bulb, and proximal duodendum, it said I have a small sliding hiatal hernia and mild irregularity of the Z line.  Several biopsies of this irregular area were taken and results are to follow.  It sounds to me like I either have Barretts or are borderline.  Is anyone familiar with this diagnosis of irregular Z line?
I am also researching TIF (Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication)...anyone had this procedure?  I would be very interested in learning details from someone who has had this surgery.  Regards,

I had a severe irregular Z line for years before barretts formed in mine. I was dx with a severe irregular Z line about 1997. I developed barretts in 2008. Not an automatic thing. Some people never get barretts and some get it earlier than others.

Take care,

i have an irregular z line and don't have barrets. I was told if you have a hiatal hernia you probably have an irregular z line, and not to worry about Barrets til getting the results back (Before I got them back negative)

If you have a hiatial hernia bigger than 2cm then the TIF is not possible. Your stomach will pull through into your chest. :(
What size is yours?

Joy, the doctor didn't tell me the size of the hernia, he just referred to it as small in the report....sounds like that is information I need to know. Thank you all for your replies.
