A lot of the time I see people writing that they are trying to get off the meds, and they have rebound, etc. So people are trying...

My question is...If I have symptoms with and without PPI's, although sometimes PPI's reduce them (and sometimes they don't), and now I am off I really running a risk of getting Barrets? I mean, if this were the case, people would not be trying to get off meds, right?

W/ PPI's and H2 blockers I get a bad right side pain, otherwise I'd probably take Ranitidine every day, since it works best for me. It sucks having to be off meds not by choice and feeling heartburn all the time...

If I had no symptoms off ppis, I think I would take low dose Ranitidine at night as a potential protective measure, even if just for peace of mind. The catch-22 is that without constantly having scopes, how would you know if a strategy was working?!
