is it normal to get a chest pain while on gerd?

the pain is in lower part of breast (btw im a male). and i think is not a heartburn
the pain is on the right side or in left side and not in the center.
it is not inside the chest, but its like the surface, sometimes when i touch the skin it feel hurts.
and it happen almost everyday. daytime & night time.

i already talk with my doc yesterday. and he said my gerd shouldn't make that kind of pain.
Is it true? or it just my doctor that want to calm me down?
i have a light esophagitis(my doc said its not that severe).. been on PPI for 2 month with no result for this unbearable pain.

i'm worries if this pain is not from my gerd. im currently very frustrated with this unbearable pain everyday.

this is the pain locations for the ilustration
or this

does anyone with gerd feel the same type of pain as me?

Hey Ahn,

What a hilarious coincidence, I JUST started having pain on the right and left side in the exact same places you have. It started last night. I tried Gaviscon, chewing gum, hard candy, Tums... the works. Nothing helped.

I am a little concerned that it may be gallbladder related since my pain was worse on my right side. I see my doctor on Tuesday and will ask him and let you know what he thinks.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi Ashley,

Thx a lot for the reply.

I think mine also worse more frequently on the right side. It almost happen daily, day & night :(.
I don't know whether it related with my Gerd or something else.
actually I also thought that it may be gallbladder related, but from internet source the pain should be a little down further on the right side only.

But your doctor should be more experience with this all, and I really hope that your doctor could found the source of this pain.
I'll be waiting for your update here..

Hope you feel better soon also :)

I have been diagnosed with silent reflux and now know this is the cause of my pain in right lung for the last couple years. I was just diagnosed this year. From what I have learned and read, acid contents, bile and so on, reflux over the les and another sphincter at the top of your throat, now it makes total sense.
I also have gall bladder issues and have lost 60 pds and cannot seem to gain weight, another symptom of silent reflux.
I have been doing gall bladder flushes, which have been helping with reflux, but you have to keep doing them until there are no more stones. I am hoping this cures my reflux and digestive issues, also I am having my mercury fillings taken out. I have read that mercury poisoning can contribute to reflux and many other issues. blush Good luck to you and hope this helps.
