Just a quick note since I had to have 2 surgeries. My BP was dropping so they went back in to make sure there wasn't any bleeding inside. Luckily there wasn't any
That was at 2:30am. They figure it id just from the blood loss during the initial surgery. He said the scar was like cutting through concrete. And my wrap was completely destroyed. /none of it was intact. So he had to deal with holes in my stomach also.
Just got the NG tube out, no leaks showed up on the upper GI. Eating Jello right now. Can als0 burb!

Take care,
Bill

Wow, Bill!
You certainly are good at giving your doctors a scare! Us, too! We've been here wringing our hands, wondering how you are, and hoping for the best!

It's so good to hear that you've gotten the NG tube out and are eating food again! Burping, too! Yay!

You take it very easy and FOLLOW THE DOC'S ORDERS! Hey, you were in the Navy...you know how to follow orders!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

way to go Bill, burping and all!

Rita, don't give up. Maybe you need a few days as an inpatient to get rehydrated and get some nourishment into you, together with some knock out drops for some shut eye! When will you hear back from the GI cons?

Oh, Bill

Hubby and I are so happy to hear from you. So happy. You are the face of this forum for me and so many others who have had or are having a rough go of it.

I want you to know that hubby and I both prayed for you and will continue to do so. You're such a good example of an honest, forthright and caring person and one who through his own problems and setbacks continues to inspire and encourage others.

I guess maybe at 64 I'm coming to believe more and more that there is some kind of grand scheme or at least a reason behind some of the things we don't always understand - the kind of things we ask "why" about so much.

Denise has been encouraging me today to relax and rest in my recovery and she is right, of course, as are all the other people on the forum who care and are so faithful to attempt to bolster our faith in our recovery when things aren't looking up so much. And that's what you and your journey have done and continue to do for me.

I hope you got your favorite flavor of Jello and that you're not in too much discomfort and that you can get some well-deserved rest. If anyone ever deserved it, it is you.

I haven't known you a long time as so many others on the forum have but I am most sincere when I say I care about your well-being and couldn't be more pleased that your big day finally came and that you're on the road to recovery again.

So good to read your words and know that you're okay.
Everyone here wishes you only the best.

Way to go!
Rita

Bill, Hurrah !  You do try hard to give your wife gray hair with your shenanigans.  I am going to start you a Post Op thread of your own and will transfer your posts so far to that thread.  I think anyone that has gone through what you have deserves their own post-op  thread as well as what a story you have to share.

We are praying for you and do go very slow...................or I will be on the next riverboat headed your way young man.

Gentle hugs,

Kitt

BILL

We cannot leave you alone for a minute can we??? You just had to have all of the surgeons attention, now didn't you??? grin nono You sure have given all of our prayers a workout!!!

I wished for you to have sunshine and hopefully now the rainbows will follow quickly.. Please do not rush your recovery.. do as your doctor advises and get healthy..

You have been here for me to lift me up and support and care about how I and so many others who have become members of this wonderful Healing Well Family recover, no matter how bad you felt. It is our turn now to be here for you as you recover from hopefully the last surgery(s) you will ever have to go through. Please let us lift you up and support and care for you as you have all of us. wink

(OH NO here comes the mush!!!!)

I don't know if you have been coherent enough but, Kitt posted a dedication to you today and I hope you have already or soon will watch it.. It is all that I wish for you and your wonderful family... blush as I said in another post.. it is amazing how you come to care so much for people whom you have never met and you only know their heart from what they set down here in words....

GET WELL SOON.. the music is calling your name....

Reach for the Sunshine... Rainbows will follow..

Y'all are just too much, but don't stop. LOL! It seems I have touched more than one life on here. I feel very honored to be an inspiration to some, and a spirit lifter to others. I can't begin to express how much Y'alls kind words mean to me. Sorry it took me so long to write, but 2 surgeries within 12 hours is rough smhair
I'm gonna go back to sleep now.

Take care,
Bill devil

We are headed up north this morning for the weekend but please know I will be taking you with me in thoughts as I am sitting out on the lake hoping to catch a fish.  Weather is good so I will for sure send lots of sunny vibes your way.

Kitt, I'm going to miss you. I hope you catch a big trout!

Bill, stop scaring the doctors! I want you to rest and follow the doctor's orders. I hope you don't have anymore trouble.

Denise, I think the "honeymoon's over". My para-pro had to leave early today and the kids decided to go a little wild on me. :(
I didn't get near enough things done I needed to do today.

Everyone else, have a good night.

Hey, Joy...

It's inevitable. The honeymoon is always temporary. But the fact that you had one is very positive!

Just remember to go slow in the beginning and spend the first six weeks practicing expectations first and academics after that. Keep it simple. If you go slow now and keep focusing on the classroom structure you're going for, you'll be able to go fast later, because they're working well within that structure.

It's hard to do with all the pressure of curriculum, but in the end it will pay off.
If they get trained well now, you'll enjoy the year more, and be less stressed.

Of course, there are those classes who never get there, but if you had a honeymoon, that's not the case with your class!

Now, get your rest and recharge for next week!
Thinking of you...

You are truly an inspiration.. there is no way after my measly lap surgery I would have been able to be on this thing talking to everyone.. even in a short post.. You are DA MAN!!!!! tongue

I hope this finds you feeling just a bit better.. I know you will not recoup in leaps and bounds (you remember that ya hear!!) but it is good to know that you are responsive enough to reply to the forum. We were all waiting not so patiently to hear that you were OK at least.. Thank You for letting us know so quickly....

If there are ... in the coming days.. times when you are down and feel as though you are falling into a place you do not want to be, please use the words of this song by Bebo Norman to lift you and know that we are all here for you... it is from his cd called TRY.... the name of the song is "Borrow Mine"
You can borrow mine, When your hope is gone
You can borrow mine, When you can't go on
Cause the world will not defeat you, When we're side by side
When your faith is hard to find, You can borrow mine!

I am getting ready to go on vacation to see all of my kids and grandbabies that are in the north.. I will still be checking in.. no worries.. you can't get rid of a 'nag' shocked

KITT

Have a super time while you are in the North.. I wish I was North right now too.... patience.... it seems we have another joy in common.. I love to fish.. some of my greatest memories are of Crappie and Bass fishing here on Lake Okeechobee.. google it and you will see that we are renowned for our fishing.... we are the Crappie Capital!!! the mildest most flavorful fish you will ever place between your lips and chew.... amazing... yummmmmmm!! What will you be fishing for?? walleye?? northern pike??? see I knew we should have been great friends.. and I have a cousin in MN.. isn't that something..

Take care both of you.. will post to my other friends on "our family" thread

HEY BILL

I hope this finds you feeling better, I know that 2 surgeries within hours of each other is a real debit on your strength account.. Please know that we are all here praying for you and sending out healing vibes...

I just know you will be up and out of that bed in no time...

Hi all,
well looks like go home tomorrow or Tuesday. Depending on my pain control. My cousin I used to coach is here with a broken upper arm. She s a flyer and NOBODY caught her. She had 2 plates and a lot of screws put in this morning. I am ready to get out of here. the incision is a bit more painful than I thought it would be, but way better than through the chest again.I think it's a bit worse because they went back in for an hour only 12 hours after it was originally done. I know if he wanted to go back in he had a very good reason and had my best interest at heart. He knows how long the 2 holes in my stomach and the esophagus hole took to heal and he told me he would hve went in right away and found the leak and fixed it. He is such a good doc. He spends all the time you need to make sure you understand why he plns to do things the way he does. All the nurses love to work with him.

Take care,
Bill

Also wanted to let everyone know I am deeply moved and appreciate all the prayers and well wishers. Y'all got my mind straightened out and I did use my extra time to work out 2 songs I was stuck on.

Rita- how's things been going for you. Hope they are getting better everyday. I did have to have an extra shot of dilaudid this evening because the 10/325 loratabs I take all the time aren't working enough.

Take care,
Bill
