I posed this question to Denise and thought I'd post it here hoping others might know if PPIs can be switched around.

I'd like to try taking different ones each day as I have 4 different kind.

Anyone know?

Thank you very much.

Blessings,
Cme

Hi Cme,
(I thought I'd post this here as well, so it would be easier to "Google", in case someone is looking for answers...)

I expect that PPI's are interchangable. I've had my PPI changed several times and I have not had to wait any time in between the changes. I started with Prilosec, went to Nexium, then started on Protonix, and never had even a day of waiting time in between them. (Mine were switched looking for better results, not side-effects.)
Good luck finding something that works!

Thanks Denise.

I'm going to try taking a different one after a few days on one. I'm looking for result too in addition to getting rid of this back pain.

Zegerid 40 mg helped me last year. It stopped the pain and nausea right away. I took it for 4 months to heal gastric ulcers. It worked beautifully.

I tried to take Zegerid again this year for LPR/GERD to no avail. And the down side to someone on a sodium restricted diet is that it causes edema. I have hypertension so I don't think I'll play around with this one.

Seems it never ends! :o(

Good Morning,

I would suspect that you would have to give each med more then one day to evaluate the efficacy of the 4 meds you are trying to evaluate.

I do hope you find the one that works the best for you.

Happy Sunday to you.

Kindly,
Kitt

Thank you Kitt. I figured I'd have try each one for several days, maybe a week.

I'm sick of this back pain and now it seems that the Dexilant isn't helping any longer anyway. No need to endure the back pain if it isn't helping. I feel like someone pulverized my kidneys!

Thanks again.
God bless,
Cme
