I am on my 11th day from my surgery for Para-esophageal surgery.  I am having issues using the bathroom.  If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate it. I am making a little headway but still struggling.  i used the mag citrate bottle, (strange because they say no carbonation) and I used a fleets enema last night and it produced some results . I also started taking colace (stool softener). This morning i went again but still a strain to get results, even though the stools are softer. I didnt realize this would be an issue. I didnt even eat yesterday.
My food has been a little creamed soups, sweetpotato,  veegetable soup,  yesterday i ate nothing just drank, i felt so sick.

Hi Alleycat,
I think it makes're not eating much of anything, so it will stand to reason that you won't go much.  Hey, on the bright side, you could be running nonstop. Another post-Nissen member I just responded to is having that problem!
Are you still on narcotic meds?  They slow things down.  Try not to strain...just keep drinking, try to eat something, and things will start moving.  If you get really worried about it, call your surgeon.  I'm sure they get that question all the time.
Good luck
