I am getting ready to start week 3 and was wondering if we can have any cheese besides cottage cheese. I have been looking for meatless casseroles to eat, but everything has cheese in it.

Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't have the TIF but, at 3 weeks when I started eating "solid" mush (hehe) I started with well cooked mac and cheese. I was able to eat most cheese as long as it was melted and I ate small bites and chewed chewed chewed... that is the key when you start adding more foods.. chew chew chew.. always listen to your body it will let you know if you are or aren't ready for what ever you choose to eat or do.

If you can chew it to a "liquid" you should be ok.

I had my TIF in April and I ate no cheese the entire 7 weeks that I was on the diet. I did eat pasta box mixes with cheese sauce like Pasta Roni and Pasta Sides. I put tofu in for protein. The TIF is different from the NF because of the staples holding the ridge in place until the the healing takes place. Food can catch on the staple and pull it out or get caught. I followed the TIF diet on the web site. Your diet is important to the success of your TIF. Good luck and stay with the diet. I know how limiting and frustrating the diet is but it is worth it.

Thanks, Tandem Rider. I was trying to find recipes for meatless sauces, but everything had melted cheese. I finally decided to just melt ricotta cheese in some pasta with cooked veggies to start. That should be safe. The boxed pasta with sauce is a good idea, though! Not sure about tofu, but I will give it a try.

It is challenging trying to find something that fits within our diet. I, too, am using the diet downloaded from the website.

Thanks for your help.
