When I went to see my gastro doc, he gave a small booklet listing which foods are safe for GERD patients, which foods aren't. I followed it and did some testing myself. Now I have must less problem with belching and heartburn after eating. Hope this tip helps.

yes many of us agree that stress is a big part of this entire reflux mess

and yes again when we associate eating with pain, often, i for one find it hard to sit down for a meal especially with family

have you tried to find the smallest meal you can eat without bringing on a major reflux event?

i kept trying smaller and smaller meals last december when i was in the middle of hell and i got down to two slices of tofu ( each slice the size of a match box) and two spears of asparagus...that was it for two hours and then i ate again

i built up from there...slowly...lost a lot of weight but after a month i was eating a small bowel of chicken soup with rice and veggies and not burning up...

hope you stick around, lot of good people here with excellent ideas and the emotional support is good medicine

best wishes

Lauralala, you can get Gaviscon chewable tablets in the UK - I can't face the liquid stuff as I have such unpleasant memories of it resurfacing several times a day when I was pregnant!
