My daughter has had a nissen fundo at 8 yrs; a paraesophageal hernia repair at 12 yrs; then a repair to the nissen and another paraesophageal hernia repair with mesh implant at 17 yrs--
Pain has recurred and guess what another paraesophageal hernia that needs to be repaired!!  This is her third hernia and she is only 18!!  She is also diagnosed with psoriatic  arthritis with recurring microscopic colitis and tietze syndrome.  No one knows if all are related or not.
Has anyone ever experienced this many hernias?
Does anyone have any reasons why that would keep recurring?-other than the wall is weak!!
Surgeon says it is the docs job to know why while the doc says the surgeon should have those answers.
My daughter is in her freshman year of college and she is devasted--thought all of this was behind her.
Any thoughts, opinions, advice would be greatly appreciated--We are both frustrated.
thanks in advance,

Welcome to Healing Well.

I would think the surgeon would know why it keeps coming back. I mean he was the person who did the repair, right?

Take care,
