Denise.Bill, and Tim...i wish all of you feeling great.yesterday in the middle of the night while sleeping,i took a pill with 2 sips of water, when i wake up today morning i felt something between my teeth ,i checked out ,the pill comes back from the wrap into my mouth and still not dissolved completely by saliva until next morning..is it due to the wrap? or maybe the oesophage still irritated,or the 2 sips of water was not enough?!!!!or maybe should i talk to my surgeon?but i am sure everybody of you has the right answer...thank you

I am glad to see you continuing to post your recovery.  :) That is strange re the pill as I would have thought you would have coughed or tasted it in your mouth before morning. Perhaps the others will have great insight as I am not wrapped - smhair so I do not have personal experience.

Just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you.

Kindly,

Kitt

Hmmmm, that's new one, but it might have gotten stuck and your esophagus just reversed gears and brought it up. I have had things that got stuck at the wrap do this before, but never a pill. I'm surprised it didn't dissolve.

Take care,
Bill

I think just saliva should dissolve the pill, but maybe your mouth was dry? I know some meds cause dry mouth. Good to hear eating has improved.

Take care,
Bill

Hi Solivar,
I don't know about you, but a couple sips of water would not be enough to push a pill through my wrap...not when I was first healing, not now.

My guess is that the wrap stopped the pill, and that it was coughed up by you...maybe even in your sleep.

Can you crush the pill, or at least cut it into smaller portions?  You definitely will need more than a couple sips of water to get it through that nice tight wrap.  Just think, though...if it's hard to get it through, it'll be great at keeping that acid in your stomach.

Hope you're having a great night!

Hi Solivar,
When that happens, it means that you've eaten too much.  Back off the amount you're taking in one sitting.  Just keep the food nearby and take the same amount over a longer period of time.

This will not last forever!  You're in the early, early stages of recovery.
Hang in there!
Denise
PS--Glad to be of help!  Others helped me when I was recovering, so I wanted to stick around and help others the way I was helped!  Have a great day...

I agree whole heartedly with Denise. I get nauseous if I over do it still. Te best is to eat smaller more frequent meals.

Take care,
Bill

Solivar,
You will not be eating normally for a long time...just listen to your body.  Follow your recovery and let it lead you.  You can't force your healing.  You will eat more when your stomach is ready to accept it.  23 days is not a long time in the healing process.  Remember that it takes a full six months for most of the healing and a year for the rest.  You need to stop worrying and relax.  Surrender to your recovery process.  Just go with the flow.   You're making it even harder by struggling against it.
Trust.  Let the healing happen.
Take care!
Denise

Thank you Bill and Dencha... you are always present to help us more than our docs.mine told me about my issues you have to wait also when i ask him if my surgery was successful..he says the time will tell us .he makes me crazy...i know waiting is the main goal to know the results...but we need to feed ourselves at least 3 times a day to can live until we know the results..i feel no appetite or my body do not send correct signals maybe because i am still healing......again very big hugs for both of you....

soliver-

You have hit the nail on the head there my friend. I would venture to think you still have some swelling at the top of your stomach and you may not be getting a correct signal. that area of the stomach is what tells us we are full. Some people have that signal delayed and may over eat. I was getting a full signal after about a 1/4 cup well past the month mark. I sometimes still get an early full feeling.
At 3 weeks I was eating just about anything I could chew to a liquid or close to it. But remember this is my 3rd time through this, so I know what to expect and know when I need to back off a bit.

I was also eating fruit quite often at the 3 to 5 week time. I felt as though it gave me more energy. It was at a good time here for fresh melons and that was really easy for me to eat. I also started to eat apples a lot and continue to do so now. I will eat about 10 to 12 apples in 2 to 3 days right now. I don't eat the mushy kind, but favor the slightly tart crunchy apples (gala or fuji). I went on a kick for peaches too. Oatmeal has been something I have eaten a lot through all 3 of my recoveries. I mix the apple/cinnamon and maple/brown sugar packets and it tastes like apple pie. See the apple connection there, LOL!

Even if you only eat a few bites of something try to do so a few times a day. also remember to stay hydrated. It really helps with healing.

Take care,
Bill
