Sorry but I don't remember what tests you have has if any. Would you let us know if you have had PH study, manometry, or barium swallow tests done?
I went to two GI specialists, and did only one test - endoscopy - it revealed small hiatal hernia, GERD, esophagitis (should be healed by now). Both of them think further test isn't necessary. They just push for PPI.
(PPI helps only by reducing the pain and damage (by lowering acidity). The fundamental problem still exists.)
