1) Do you find poor posture contributes to your GERD symptoms?  (I am telling my daughter to sit straighter because her leaning over eating/reading etc  can't be helpful to GERD.) Am I right or wrong?

2) Even if you are episodic, how to you control your night activites to attempt sleep?  She threw up a lot last night and stayed awake way too long.  She was reading her book inbetween throwing up.  I think she was too involved in her story to try to relax.  She thought the book took her mind off her stomach issues.

3) Does anti anxiety medicine help?  Can she be so nervous about throwing up at school that is causes more throwing up?

4)  Does anyone take Metamucil on a daily basis?  If so, before or after morning PPI's?

5) Last question.  Will PPI's mar any of test that may be ordered soon?

Hi

A lot of people find posture makes a difference, but it's one of those things that varies from person to person. I can guarantee that when I do tidying (bending & picking up) and hoovering, I'll have pain and more sensation of reflux.

Being on ppis can affect some results but she'll be asked to stop them if there is any great concern about that. Has she been tested for Helicobacter? The ppis can affect test results for that but shouldn't affect biopsies taken to test for Helicobacter.

Anxiety can definitely feed into GERD and for some people just the prospect of the relevant tests and hospital trips can be enough to cause a worsening of symptoms.

Her vomiting is concerning - are you able to keep her hydrated? If she gets dehydrated she's going to feel more sickly, so she could get caught in a vicious circle. Is she seeing a paediatrician as well? Have other causes of the vomiting been ruled out too?
