Yeah I know, your all sick of my by now lol. I'm so thankful you guys are here! No one ever told me about suture care. Can you wash your belly with soap or are they supposed to stay dry? I assume a little redness around them I'd normal. They do bit hurt, occassionally itch only. But the one by my belly button kinda broke open and is oozing just a little. Nothing bad. Normal or not?

My surgeon told me I can clean them with soap, just pat them though to clean, then pat to dry. Don't rub them.

The paperwork the hospital gave me said there can be a small amount of "leakage" around the incisions and it is normal.

Nal,  When you see your Dr. let him know that you did not receive post op instructions re suture care, diet etc. as this may save his next patient from being in the same place you are.

A nice post op instruction book usually has all that info you need.  He owes you one book  smilewinkgrin

Take care and keep healing.

Kindly,
Kitt

Thanks. I would agree. He said he even had one for the nurse on the ward to give me and she didn't. All I got was some sheets with very vague instructions on them
