My daughter had a toupet fundoplication surgery at age 9. Now, at age 12, I think the wrap has come undone and she'll need a redo.
I'm curious what would make a wrap come undone. I know that babies get a fundoplication surgery- so it can't simply be growth. (She grew 6 inches the first year after the surgery.)
She eats grains, including bread. Could the grains (oatgroats) irrated the band?
Never pepsi, but sometimes Sprite and a carbonated juice. Was that a factor?
She eats chocolate. Is this a huge no-no?
If she is going to have another surgery (and I assume that she will have it), what can I do to prevent this problem from reoccuring?
I'm going to post about the gaps diet in another post. But if you done the gaps diet- did it help?
