My GERD got worse for each day i think after i did the endoscopy last week.

After my endoscopy i felt some itching in the stomach but and i tried Lansoprazole 2 days ago and it took away everything but i couldn't tolerate it so i am bad now, it hurts as much as it did when it all started 3 months ago in the left back behind the rib, it feels soar but the Endoscopy didn't see any soars at all, what is it then? irritation by the acid?

Also a new symptom i didn't have which started a few days ago, i am so bloated, specially after a meal i get so bloated the stomach feels soar and full, not nice feeling at all.

How come it's worse now when i was almost good? positive side is that i don't have so much problem with soar throat anymore, but my stomach burns in spots everywhere and moves around and the bloating is terrible.

I feel i need to force myself to take a Nexium tomorrow if it continues, i am so pissed at my life right now, it all started in end of Sept this year and now it feels i am back on square one again and this hell with all meds i can't tolerate make it a nightmare for me....

Is it typical with GERD that new symptons comes and goes?

Hi lanab,
My guess is that the endoscopy irritated an upper GI tract that was in the process of healing.  If you're anything like me, when something flares up my stomach, it takes a long time for it to heal.  The bloating could also be a result of the endoscopy.
Hang in there.  It'll heal again!

Hi Lanab- sorry you are not feeling well today. My mom had an endoscopy right before thanksgiving (she actually just got diagnosed with celiac) and for a few weeks afterward, also reported feeling worse. She did have gastritis and it seemed that , as Denise said, any intrusion just makes things worse for a bit. She has been feeling much better now. I think that GERD is one of those things that is up and down..at least that's what my case has been...today ..I feel pretty decent--had very few problems with my swallowing and ate fairly normally. But yesterday-- I refluxed so bad, it was in my left ear! so I was in misery.

One thing that is helping me is the gaviscon--if anything it feels initially soothing...maybe that might help you get over this temporary set back

My symptoms had varied from time to time, from bloating/indigestion to nighttime GERD to day/night GERD to anxiety/panic attacks, until I could no longer make sense out of it. But eventually it came to pass. I have solved the bloating/indigestion problem by careful dieting and health supplement - ACV, probiotics, vitamins.

Hi lanab,
As a fellow gastritis sufferer, I feel your pain.  Before my surgery, when I had gastritis I immediately had esophagitis as well, and it took months to get comfortable again.  I still get gastritis (generally as a result of taking antibiotics) and it takes a long time to heal.  It's still much better than pre-surgery, because the inflammation stays in the stomach.

Are you unable to take PPIs?  Are you finding any symptom relief with liquid antacids?  If you have good prescription insurance, I would recommend asking for a prescription for Carafate Suspension.  It's very expensive, so you won't want to get it if you don't have good coverage.  You could also go with the generic version, but it only comes in a tablet.  It coats the stomach and helps it to heal.

Be sure to continue to eat very carefully and be especially careful to eat smooth foods that won't irritate the stomach when it contracts to mash food during digestion.

I wish you lots of luck!
Denise

I had little pain in my stomach for couple of days after my Endoscopy. The pain was more than the normal pain from gastritis.
