LPR: Why don't our throats heal?

It seems like every body part has the ability to heal. Interior, exterior.

Why don't our throats heal?

Is it because our throats are continuously being exposed to stomach acid or fumes?

You nailed it. Also it takes quite some time to heal even after the acid is reduced, depending on how much damage was done.
