Hey all this is my first post. I've just been diagnosed with acid reflux I have lpr everyday now for the last 7weeks. I went to my doc for a sore throat and loosing my voice he put me on prilosec had a really bad reaction and stoped after first dose. The next day after my meal had my first real episode of acid reflux and it still has not left. Everyday all day I would loose my voice not be able to swallow and some
breathing trouble. I'm now trying the natural way and it is getting better but still there everyday.
wanted to give you a little background. Stem cells injected into the sphincter could be really promising they've done a small study on rats, and dogs but no human yet there putting more of the effort into the urine sphincter and it's working to strengthen it. Sounds promising! One more thing also human growth hormone I heard could strengthen the sphincter because it increases the muscle mass but it is really expensive.( has to be injected to really work) I have to think outside the box because I can not take ppi's

Natural way is the only way if you know how to treat it, what kind of reaction did you get from Prilosec? neurological symtoms?

Welcome Healthhope - there are other members that can't tolerate the drugs, and I'm sure they'll be along to chat to you soon.

Have you read Sunbeam's thread on LPR and the Koufman diet?

Thank you. Yes they were neurological really scared me as I'm sure it did everyone who had these effects. I will check out the other posts. Has anyone ever heard of hgh helping or anything about stem cell research? My doc wants me to try another ppi but to be honest I'm to scared of another reaction and I am starting to get better not over it it's still there everyday and if I eat a little to much I feel like my throat will completely close done and the mucas makes me feel like I'm drowning. Kinda stinks. What's helped me is a complete lock down on what I eat.
Stopped all caffine, no dairy or very little no sodas. All I drink is water 2 protein smoothies a day. And 2 protien bars no gluten and a sweet pt. Or bake pt with skin. Aloe juice and probotics. I've lost 14pds I think I've stopped the weight loss. Well that's where I am. I did all my lab work for the hgh and will keep everyone posted if it helps. Sorry I'm texting this from my cell.

Is the HGH injected into the body or just the LES?

Hgh is human growth hormone it produces musle mass so I hope it will strengthen the sphincter because it's a muscle. This is what my friend said helped he's lpr tremendously not completely but cut in in half. It's an injection once a day 6 days a week. Not without it's own risk you would want to talk to your dr. First get there ok and then look into finding a doc who does this kinda stuff. If you have or it's a large chance you could get cancer I wouldn't touch the stuff. It's a growth hormone so it would make it grow really fast. But they keep a check on you and your levels all the time. There are no study's to show it helps with acid reflux so it's kinda like being a test subject. You would really need to reserch this it's a little risky I think but I can't take ppi's and what's 6 months just to give it a try.
The other is stem cells injected into the sphincter but they haven't even done human testing yet just animal but have done human testing on the blader sphincter and it's looking really great. It's strengthening the sphincter so it will stop urine flow.
Im starting hgh in about 2 weeks if I get any help at all from it I will keep you posted I promise I will not get well and ditch. It takes the levels a while to build up so maybe 2 months.
I truly belive the stem cell may be our best bet so we all should keep looking into that. Sorry again texted this all from phone.

Sorry you also asked about gaining weight. no exactly the opposite you get lean. You still have to watch calories and exercise but if you do you get lean.

The quest for a weight loss solution has some people taking human growth hormone (HGH) in pills, powders and injections.

Using HGH for weight loss, muscle building, or anti-aging is experimental and controversial. HGH injections are believed to decrease fat storage and increase muscle growth to some extent, but studies have not shown this to be a safe or effective weight loss remedy.

HGH seems to be in vogue these days but I have never read about it being used as you described so I will have to do some educational reading to get up to speed on this topic.

Kindly,

Kitt

You are right there are no studies on it at all as I indacated in the last post. I would be taking a chance on it and I know this but again I can not take the ppi's and have no other choice but to think outside of the box. I'm doing all the natural remedies i can this is my next step. I'm going on a friends advice I'm giving it 6 months if it doesn't help then I'm no worse off then before.

I wish you the best with the injections and do let us know how it is going for you. I am glad to see you have done your own research and also talked with someone who has had the treatment.

Here's a relevant article on the topic. I hope this research continues! It certainly seems promising...
