This is my first day post op and I'm not in excruciating pain right now....just mainly my throat from the previous damage from LPR, my stomach from the incisions, and my chest when I take deep breaths. I believe that's where the surgical site is.

I have been given Oxycondone to use every 12 hours. I was going to take one before bed.

I wanted to know how often and long did you guys stay on pain meds post surgery.

The pain is bearable but I figure why not take it since I have it. I hope it doesn't give my nausea though....I have none at the moment.

Thanks guys.

Welcome to the other side Max.
I did not take any pain meds from day 4 and only the two first days were bad.

Welcome back Max !  Glad to hear you are not experiencing much pain.  If your doing ok without the pain meds then keep on going but if you start to feel like you need a pain pill feel comfortable using one.

Will they cause you to feel nauseated - they may depending on how your body reacts to this drug.  Do you have anything ordered for nauea ?  Some people will take an antiemetic along with a pain pill if they know the med may cause them to have an upset stomach.

I am sure you will be hearing from other members re your question.

Kindly,
Kitt
